Mon Maintenance provide a World Class standard of Engineering maintenance Service in Mechanical Fitting, Industrial, Marine and Electrical and Welding/Fabricating.  Who are keen to expand into the Nuclear Sector.  To support them in this area they joined NSA-Nuclear.

We see the Nuclear Skills Passport as an important part of demonstrating our competency, saving time and money while increasing our productivity.  It will impact on the quality and standard of our services. The NSP will be a major part of our business development strategy for the future.

The Challenge

To prepare Mon Maintenance Services (a small local company on Anglesey) to be fit and ready to compete for tenders within the nuclear sector

The Solution

NSA-Nuclear membership provided a dedicated Regional Manager who supports and informs the organisation.  Mon Maintenance attend the Regional Steering Group which provides them with the most up-to-date detail on the sector.  They are using the NSP and entering appropriate training courses clearly demonstrating their commitment to up skilling and preparing for further growth within the Nuclear sector.

Investors in People and Leadership Model Award allows Mon Maintenance to show how all parts of our business fit together.  It allows us to demonstrate our learning and development link in to our strategic direction and strengthen our presence in nuclear sector.  The framework allows us to ‘Plan – Do – Review’

Mon Maintenance have also benefited from Community Apprenticeship, providing partial funding enabling us to take on an apprentice.  This has enabled us to comply with our vision and commitment to grow local skills for the business with a nuclear focus.

We have accessed training through the “Y Dyfodol” fund providing us with accredited nuclear specific training for all employees, 90% of employees having completed Triple Bar and 20% completed Award for Nuclear Industry Awareness (ANIA)

The Results

  •  Implemented and fully use the Nuclear Skills Passport.
  •  Accessed accredited nuclear training  via the Dyfodol fund.
  • 90% of employees completed the Triple  Bar
  • 20% of employees completed the  ANIA.
