Following on from a successful trial project, the Skills Academy linked again with Teachers from Industry to further promote the uptake of STEM subjects in school by improving and encouraging the teaching of science and technology in primary schools. This project was funded by the NDA.
“The nuclear industry needs more young people to take up science, engineering, maths and technology subjects. Research shows that the industry needs about 1500 recruits per annum. There are many different routes into the Nuclear Sector from apprenticeships, to joining as a graduate. Feedback received from the schools has been excellent, and demonstrates that that schools welcome the help and support that these workshops provide.”
